TurboTax Expert Assist

modernizing tax flows


WHAT

We updated flows across 500+ screens, while migrating the flows to a new tech stack, delivering a streamlined experience that met our latest design standards.

WHY

The UI was over 10 years old and dusty, still based on a deprecated desktop app. We wanted to give our business tax customers an improved user experience that could stand on its own with minimal maintenance.

TurboTax Experts Business

scaling AI adoption


WHAT

I created business tax-specific content frameworks for Claude and trained adjacent teams to incorporate Writer and Claude skills into their workflows, using Agent Skills open standards.

WHY


Business taxes have their own nuances and unique tone—business entity types, tax estimates, and more. These details aren’t captured in the Intuit Content Design system nor the TurboTax brand guidelines, so we build a version for business tax specifically.

CONTRIBUTION
 
  • Design guidelines on how business tax diverges from general Intuit and TurboTax guidelines
  • Exported Intuit Content Design System to a Claude Skills repository via markdown (.md) files
  • Created master list of instructions for Claude when content-related prompts are used

H&R Block

redesigning a high-traffic homepage


I redesigned H&R Block’s homepage alongside two product designers. Because this page receives 11M+ visits per month during tax season, this project was high priority and high visibility.


The company wanted to move the needle on conversions and stay relevant to a diverse and growing user base. We also launched a new visual language.

We accomplished the following goals:
  • Improved conversions to captured greater online market share
  • Improved visibility for individual products
  • Made H&R Block more relevant with new, fresh design

I launched a new site for The Gits documentary’s 20th anniversary edition to fit the vibe, narrative, and visual language of the film’s rerelease.
